Policies / Sustainability Policy

We care about how buildings are made, how they perform over time, and the long-term impact they have on people, places and resources.

We believe architecture has a responsibility to respond thoughtfully to environmental, social and long-term economic challenges. Sustainability is considered throughout our work, from early strategic thinking and site analysis through to material selection, building performance and long-term adaptability.

Oran Architecture aims to promote environmentally responsible design approaches appropriate to the scale, context and ambitions of each project. We seek to support clients in making informed decisions around sustainability, energy use, durability, reuse and long-term value.

Within the practice, we are committed to operating responsibly and reducing unnecessary environmental impact where practical. This includes encouraging efficient use of resources, reducing waste, supporting digital working practices and promoting sustainable travel choices where appropriate.

Our approach includes:

• considering environmental impact as part of the design process
• encouraging low-energy and efficient building strategies where appropriate
• promoting thoughtful material selection and responsible resource use
• supporting reuse, refurbishment and long-term adaptability where feasible
• encouraging environmentally responsible working practices within the studio
• reviewing our approach periodically as the practice develops
