Our name, Oran, comes from the Scots Gaelic word for ‘song’ - a melody of culture, place, and memory. It also honours Loch an Ordain, the cherished lochan of our late colleague and friend, Calum MacDonald. The slashed ‘O’ in our logo reflects his lochan, with the line symbolising the handcrafted jetty Calum built there, a quiet nod to craft, nature, and legacy at the heart of our work.

We are Oran
From these foundations, we founded Oran Architecture to shape places with care, working sustainably in the sectors we know and love, and recentring architecture around people, communities, and the landscapes we touch. Our practice grows from a belief that thoughtful, diligent design can create lasting positive impact.
